We take a break from the regular programming about spelling, punctuation and accordions to bring you this public service announcement...
There are few TV shows that are must-sees for me. In fact, right now it’s just “Lost” and “Chuck,” and it looks like the latter is in danger of not being picked up for a 3rd season.
If you’ve never seen “Chuck,” check it out. You can watch it on NBC at 8 p.m. on Mondays, or online the following day. It’s equal parts high action and sharp comedy — kinda like the love child of “Alias” (at least the first three seasons) and “Friends.” Above all, it’s escapism that’s both crazy fun and smart, making it infinitely more deserving of renewal than most shows currently littering the TV landscape (I’m looking at you, reality and scripted shows featuring over-privileged pretty people.) In fact, I'll venture to say I'd be truly bummed if this show were to be yanked, as its writing, direction, production values and acting are consistently top-notch, providing a welcome escape at the start of each work week. That's unlike other faves that start slipping after a bit and really just need to be put down before their creative nosedive tarnishes their legacy too much. (Case in point: the aforementioned "Alias." Sorry, Syd.)
GiveMeMyRemote.com is devoting this week to getting the word out about "Chuck" and its plight for renewal. This here blog post is me doing my part to ensure that Charles Carmichael & Co. stay with us a bit longer. Seriously, you have nothing better to do this evening, so hang out with Chuck for a bit, eh?
