I sent the company behind this banner ad a friendly note to let them know that the apostrophe in "its" is unnecessary. I suppose they misread my e-mail -- and they didn't bother to look at the offending banner ad, either -- as they e-mailed back that adding an apostrophe in "its" would make the sentence grammatically incorrect. I responded that I was in total agreement, which is why I was letting them know that someone overlooked an extraneous apostrophe in their banner ad. No response, and the ad still stands as-is.
Being a word nerd is often a thankless existence. {sigh...}
